The Old War Office

I have had the pleasure of working with Fern Anderson Interiors on this very special project. I created a number of interior images to show the owner how this apartment will look.

The Old War Office is a Grade II-listed building located in the Whitehall area of London, England. It was originally built in 1906 and served as an official building for the UK Government before being converted into upmarket residences. The building has undergone a monumental six-year transformation and will open to the public in Summer 2023 with the UK’s first Raffles Hotel, 85 unique private residences, nine exciting restaurants, three iconic bars, Guerlain’s first London Spa, and active wellness by Pillar Wellbeing.

The Old War Office has a rich history and has been witness to world-shaping events of the 20th century. It was once a place of work for some of the most famous political names of 20th Century Britain, including Sir Winston Churchill, Lord Haldane, and T.E. Lawrence. The building was also a meeting point for spies and military bosses.

The Hinduja Group and Onex Holding have spearheaded the meticulous six-year renovation carried out by hundreds of artisans to restore this Edwardian masterpiece. The renovation has transformed the handsome state rooms and offices into 120 guest rooms and suites, overlooking iconic London landmarks.

Raffles takes residence at The OWO with its first UK hotel and a collaboration with New York-based designer, Thierry Despont. The hotel offers exquisite interiors, legendary service, and a new era of hospitality.

The OWO Residences by Raffles is an invitation to a superlative lifestyle within a building of illustrious history. The OWO’s extraordinary experience includes nine new exciting restaurants, three iconic bars, Guerlain’s first London Spa, and active wellness by Pillar Wellbeing.

In conclusion, The Old War Office is a historic landmark that has undergone a definitive transformation. It has been restored to its former glory and now offers a unique experience to visitors and residents alike.
